The day was not as we had imagined.
Visions of a sunny stroll through the garden dashed with the morning forecast of rain, rain, and more rain.
But there is only one day to see the garden – heralded as one of the most beautiful in Japan. Umbrella in hand we brave the puddles that form on the pathways.
We discover the beauty of the garden, dank moss covered in dewy droplets, crying berries, and petals bathing in the stream.
As the winds rage the umbrella retreats, rendered useless. We surrender ourselves to the elements.
Gardens are for all weather.
